Shirley Porter Washington Joins the Ranks of Leading Professionals
Shirley Porter Washington has 30 years of professional experience in her career.
HENDERSON, NV, June 10, 2009 /Art and Artists PR News/ -- Shirley Porter Washington, Author, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence.
Mrs. Washington has enjoyed a colorful career, spanning diverse fields. She has worked as a first-grade teacher for 12 years, a guidance counselor for 18 years and was the owner and director of a licensed day care center for ten years. Currently, she is an author and her first book is a biography about her uncle Countee Cullen, who was a leader during the Harlem Renaissance.
In 1964, Mrs. Washington received her Master of Education, from Loyola University of Louisiana. She received her Bachelor of Arts in 1954, from Xavier University of Louisiana and attributes her success to the support she received from her family. In the future, she hopes to write and publish her second book which is an auto-biography.
