AGORA GALLERY PRESENTS LUCA BRACALI IN ALTERED STATES OF REALITY
NEW YORK, NY, April 16, 2010 /Art and Artists PR News/ -- Chelsea's Agora Gallery will feature Italian artist, Luca Bracali, in Altered States of Reality: an Exhibition of Analog and Digital Photography. The exhibition is scheduled to run from April 16, 2010 through May 07, 2010 (opening reception: Thursday, April 22, 2010).
Italian photographer Luca Bracali situates his work in the tradition of 15th century Renaissance painting, something strongly apparent in both his compositions and color palettes and his subtle way of guiding our eyes towards subjects' faces and sources of light. An intrepid adventurer who has photographed over 120 countries, Bracali deploys a consistent aesthetic across his incredibly rich and varied subjects and landscapes. His images are always organized slightly off-center, with strong diagonals, bold colors and sharp focus, pulling our attention into the space of the picture.
Whether photographing bustling city streets or an individual figure working in a field, a calm river at sunrise or a jungle bursting into flames, Bracali is able to capture with an uncanny tactility the feeling of the moment. Every color and texture transports the viewer around the world with each new image, from sweaty tropical forests to arid deserts and the cutting arctic cold. Bracali's eyes and lens offer a vision of the natural world in all its infinite beauty.
Exhibition Dates: April 16, 2010 - May 07, 2010

Consumed with exploring our world as they uniquely see it, the artists in Agora Gallery's "Altered States of Reality: an Exhibition of Analog and Digital Photography" use a myriad of visual vocabularies and technologies. Differing in method, these artists share in the passionate quest to articulate the moments often ignored in everyday life. Influenced by Surrealism and Abstractionism alike, these artists boldly investigate their psyches and natural surroundings. The results, at once harmonious, perplexing and alluring, take us on an inspirational visual journey.
