AGORA GALLERY PRESENTS UNITED IN ART

NEW YORK, NY, June 04, 2010 /Art and Artists PR News/ -- Chelsea's Agora Gallery will feature Britsih artist, Anika Firouzman, in United in Art. The exhibition is scheduled to run from June 04, 2010 through June 25, 2010 (opening reception: Thursday, June 10, 2010).
Boldly heartened by her intrepid spiritual beliefs, mesmerizing portraitist Anika Firouzman is inspired by her poetic sensitivity to the people around her. Intensely introspective, Firouzman imbues her works with a precise, perceptive sympathy for her subjects. Energetic in color and spirited in form, Firouzman peels away a person's defensive shells, vivaciously tracing their psyche on her canvases in immediate, effortless brushstrokes. Thick, bravura layers deftly depict her subject's nuanced consciousnesses. Piercingly sincere in her painting, Firouzman seeks to portray her sitter's essence, conflated with her own soul. "When I sit in front of a canvas with my paints, I feel like the whole world is in my hands, and my mind is the navigator through this colourful journey," states Firouzman. Vigorous in her artistic process, Firouzman adroitly calms the world's storms of chaos in her painterly, expressive portraiture.

Native to Hackney, England, Firouzman completed a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts in 2009. She lives in London, and plans to attain her master's degree in Art Psychotherapy.
