Gemini G.E.L. is Proud to Announce a New Selection of Richard Serra Prints Available Now.
Gemini G.E.L., founded in 1966âEUR"is a renowned artists' workshop and publisher of limited edition prints and sculptures. We are proud to announce the availability of some prolific work in the form of Richard Serra prints.
LOS ANGELES, CA, October 16, 2010 /Art and Artists PR News/ -- Gemini G.E.L. is proud to announce the availability of some extremely rare Richard Serra prints, on display at our gallery and workshop on Melrose Ave. in Los Angeles.
Our team has worked very hard to obtain these rare, and absolutely stunning works of art. So for those searching for Richard Serra printsâEUR"we now have a new selection of some of his late minimalist works.
For those that don't know Richard Serra is a contemporary American sculptor and artist involved heavily in the process art movement. His early works deal with minimalistâEUR"metal sculptures that are absolutely massive in size. His works can be found in museums all over the world from the Museum of Modern Art in New York; as well as his monumental steel work Sequence, which can be seen currently at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Sequence is one of the most recognizable American sculptures ever created, and is made of 12 steel plates weighing over 242 tonsâEUR"more than the average commercial airline.
Our new selection of Richard Serra prints, are from his late minimalist drawing periodâEUR"which has a heavy focus on the supreme forms. We have a selection of his work ranging from 1970 to 2008. Each lithograph is extremely limited in nature, and all are signed by the artist himself.
Some examples of the work available include the prolific and political Richard Serra print, Abu Ghraib which was created by Serra as a deterrent from US war efforts in the Middle East. This simple lithographic crayon drawing was featured on a great deal of posters by the Whiney Museum, as well as on various ads encouraging people to vote during the 2004 election.
We also have a wide variety of his late works that deal with vectors and the trajectory of moving objects in space and time. These minimalist Richard Serra Prints deal with his most graphic gestures. As Serra has described his later works, "I was more interested in a penetration into the land that would open the field and bring you into it bodily, not just draw you into it visually."
