LateRooms.com - Minucodes in Seville Revisits the Work of Marta Minujin

A fascinating reprisal of an art exhibition first created in the 1960s is being staged in Seville.

SEVILLE, SPAIN, October 13, 2010 /Art and Artists PR News/ -- Fans of the avant-garde Argentine artist Marta Minujin should be sure to check out an exhibition of her work at the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporaneo (CAAC) during their next holidays in Seville.

This fascinating display revisits a piece that she originally put together more than 40 years ago, in which she took photos of a series of parties that included people from different social spheres.

Minujin turned this experiment into an art piece at the time and the CAAC is currently looking back on her creation to see how her conclusions on interaction in society look in the modern world.

The project was originally commissioned by the Center for Inter-American Relations, which is now known as the Americas Society.

"Marta Minujin [was] a prominent voice of the Argentine neo-avant-garde art scene of the 1960s and 1970s, with a brilliant international career that helped define the discussion about media, performance and participation," remarked the organisation.

Guests at the fine accommodation Seville has on offer can view the display until February 6th 2011.

Admission costs just EUR1.80 (GBP1.55) for this temporary exhibition or EUR3.01 to explore the whole arts space.

The building is open between 10:00 and 20:00 local time from Tuesdays to Fridays, 11:00 to 20:00 on Saturdays and 10:00 to 15:00 on Sundays. It is closed on Mondays.

For more information on this event visit the CAAC website or contact the venue on (+34) 955 03 70 70.
