AGORA GALLERY PRESENTS THE APEX OF TRANSCENDENCE

NEW YORK, NY, November 23, 2010 /Art and Artists PR News/ -- Chelsea's Agora Gallery will feature California artist, Nami Yang, in the Apex of Transcendence. The exhibition is scheduled to run from November 23, 2010 through December 14, 2010 (opening reception: Thursday, December 02, 2010).

Nami Yang's painting hearkens back to the belief that anything is possible through art. Using impressions of natural phenomena, personal insights, and lucid dreams, Nami crafts beautiful abstractions from oil paint and collage. Her work is exceptionally tactile, often employing a variety of textural collage elements to juxtapose with a silky application of paint. A palette which favors warm, lively tones expresses the optimistic worldview of the artist. Brushstroke, knife, finger, or sponge, Nami uses everything at her disposal to craft each picture. Drastic changes in tone imbue a sculptural touch to Nami's painting; forms seem to leap forth from the canvas. Her style employs certain realistic elements but obfuscates full representation in favor of timeless, elemental forms which provide "great leeway for imagination and dialogue." Motion is especially evident, whether the beating of wings or a heart, as Nami focuses on the energy which stirs in our world.

Nami's art may be found in public and private collections in Japan, Taiwan, and the United States. She lives in Whittier, California.
