Darlene R. Willson Receives Professional Networking Community's Highest Honor
Legally blind and handicapped, Darlene R. Willson proves anything is possible in her field
Atlanta, MI, March 1, 2010 /Art and Artists PR News/ --Darlene R. Willson, Clay Sculptor and Owner of Darlene's Delights, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Fine Arts. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named professionals of the year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements and leadership abilities.
Darlene R. Willson is not unfamiliar with adversity. With dreams of becoming an artist, she has had to overcome limitations that many would consider severely debilitating, especially in the field of fine arts. Ms. Willson is both legally blind and has had several fingers amputated - yet, she has still managed to become a celebrated sculptor and painter. Now celebrating 33 years in the field, she specializes in clay and watercolor mediums and in subjects pertaining to landscape, flora and holiday scenes. She also provides personalized sculptures - including her famous, one-of-a-kind wedding cake tops - and greeting cards as Owner of Darlene's Delights.
Ms. Willson finds art to be the perfect medium through which to channel her thoughts and feelings utilizing her God-given talent. "I am here to make people happy," she noted during an exclusive interview with Cambridge Publishing. Using a dialysis machine, she has surely proven that dreams can conquer disabilities.
Ms. Willson is a proud member of Presidential Who's Who.
