John Desiderio Bucci is Known for his Unique Ability to Brings Ideas to Life
CHICAGO, IL, March 16, 2010 /Art and Artists PR News/ --John Desiderio Bucci, owner of Bucci Studios International, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Fine Arts. While inclusion in Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named the Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, and leadership abilities.
The proprietor of his own eponymous art gallery, John Desiderio Bucci has been a successful artist for over four decades. Best noted for his pieces involving mechanical and electrical design, photography and working in mediums of plastic, wood, fiberglass, resin, etc., he has gained international renown for his almost life-size working replicas of the Trevi Fountain and the Sistine Chapel. Since completing these projects for the Italian Tourist Board, Mr. Bucci has become highly sought-after for his travel tradeshow designs, helping promote the attractions of other countries like the United States, Brazil, France, Greece, and Mexico.
Honored in 2004 with the Leonardo da Vinci Award by Order Sons of Italy in America, Mr. Bucci has built a name for himself as an innovator. He parlayed a love of race cars into a fiberglass sports car that was displayed in the Transportation & Travel Pavilion at the 1964 New York World's Fair and was called Paul Anka's dream car. He also designed a modular home in which five rooms are fit and shipped in a single crate. He continues this tradition of innovation by fashioning furniture, statues and other artwork from a wide assortment of materials from acrylic and concrete to fiberglass and clay. Known for his unique ability to bring ideas to life, Mr. Bucci has worked with diverse clientele, including commercial businesses, theatrical set designers, architects, industrial landscapers and church festival committees.
Mr. Bucci subscribes to the motto, "Nothing is impossible," and has applied it not only to his craft but to living itself. The survivor of a dramatic escape from communist Yugoslavia, he was educated in Italy, earning a Bachelor of Science in Electronics in 1959 from Radio Scuola Italiana in Torino. He migrated to the U.S. in 1959. He is a member of The Italian Cultural Society of Chicago, IL.
Most recently, Mr. Bucci completed a bronze statue of Abraham Lincoln entitled, "Road to Greatness—The White House." It is on display at the intersection of the Lincoln and Dixie Highways in Chicago Heights, Illinois. He looks forward to building on his modular home concept and developing more new ideas and products.
