Ancient Craft of Glassblowing Takes Shape in the New Brooklyn Glass Studio
Have you ever wondered how glass is made? Now is your chance to find out and even try your hand at this ancient art form. Brooklyn Glass offers classes in a variety of techniques and provides live demonstrations to the public.
BROOKLYN, NY, June 21, 2011 /Art and Artists PR News/ -- Located in Park Slope, the new glass art facility features a spacious glassblowing studio, lampworking area, and a state of the art neon shop. Students have the opportunity to learn the techniques of each studio discipline while working side by side with professional artists. From jewelry making to sculpture, Brooklyn Glass provides an extensive educational program with an emphasis on individual creativity.
The studio also hosts live demonstrations and workshops at open house events scheduled to take place on October 15 and November 19 between 12:00 noon and 4:00pm. Visitors will encounter narrated demos in each working studio and can participate in a one-on-one glassblowing workshop at a nominal cost. Open to visitors of all ages, each open house is informative, exciting, and fun.
Brooklyn Glass will officially begin their fall semester with a series of weekly classes, weekend workshops, and intensives beginning this August.
Brooklyn Glass is a newly founded resource for the creative community and is committed to enriching the cultural landscape within the five boroughs of New York City.
