Grassroots Organization Helps Generate Best Practices to Enable Africans to Help Themselves!
Africa As One Creates Mission to Help Grant Writers and Non-Government Organizations Build a Sustainable Africa

That's truly the mission of Africa As One, a Malibu, Calif.-based nonprofit organization that develops best practices for grant writers and non-government organizations so that Africans can develop programs that enable themselves.
"Rather than opening our own offices and clinics in Africa, we are educating grant writers, who in turn can help non-government organizations achieve accountability, transparency and integrity," said Kenneth Lord, Founder of Africa As One. "We think the biggest impact in education and medicine can be made from the people in the community and we are enabling them to make a difference in their own villages and neighborhoods."
In short, Africa As One is educating the grant writers supporting the locally-based organizations to develop a path to financial and societal sustainability.
"We want to help the African people become sustainable in the long run," Lord said. "Instead of always relying on handouts from other nations, we want to enable them to secure their own grants and financing to implement the best programs they can at the local level."
Africa As One focuses on a number of critical areas for the African continent, including education, AIDS, development, trade and debt. Their mission is to develop Africa as one, instead of supporting individual countries.
"The nations of Africa need to come together for the benefit of all peoples," Lord said. "Our mission at Africa As One is to make that happen, one person at a time."
