Wine and Design Triad Fundraiser Raises $500 for Family Service of the Piedmont
Jamestown studio's first fundraiser helps raise awareness for children and families in need in Guilford County
JAMESTOWN, NC, September 29, 2011 /Art and Artists PR News/ -- Wine and Design Triad's first fundraiser helped raise much needed attention and funds for individuals and families in crisis throughout Guilford County, NC. The two-hour painting event raised $500 for Family Service of the Piedmont. The money will be used to help fund programs and provide support services, advocacy, and education.
Family Service is the largest private, nonprofit agency of its kind in Guilford County. The agency empowers individuals and families in crisis to restore hope, achieve stability, and thrive. Agency programs include Domestic Violence Shelters, Children's Advocacy Centers, Individual and Family Counseling, Free Consumer Credit Counseling, In-Home Therapy and Support for new mothers with heightened stress factors; and Family Preservation intervention. Family Service Marketing and Development Officer, Jody Susong, says Wine and Design's owner Jenny Ragsdale and Ragsdale's husband George, have been gracious supporters of the agency and that everyone involved had a great time.
"It was a fabulous event and so much fun," says Susong. "We are very appreciative to Jenny and Wine and Design for their generous contribution to the agency. These monies will be used to help build safe and healthy families in Guilford County."
Wine and Design opened its doors in Jamestown in May of this year as the first franchise operation of Raleigh's popular and first wine and painting party concept. The studio provides "memories and a masterpiece in just two hours" and targets prospective customers in High Point, Winston-Salem, Burlington, and Greensboro.
Wine and Design provides the canvas, cover-up, paints, paintbrushes, and corkscrew and attendees provide a beverage of his or her choosing. First-time painters, aspiring artists, or self-proclaimed pro's browse the studio's website to find a painting they would like to replicate. Sessions are led by local artists that guide participants through a carefully-orchestrated, step-by-step process that promises a finished "masterpiece" at the end of the two-hour session. Ragsdale says that she is grateful for everyone who "signed up, sipped up, and came out to support a very worthwhile cause."
"I was so happy to be able to host this event for Jody and Family Service," says Ragsdale. "People in our own backyard are hurting and this was such a wonderful way to do something positive for our community, as well as shine a light on this important issue. This is definitely a cause that is near and dear to me, and I look forward to working with Jody again to host another fundraiser for her wonderful agency."
