Paul A. Parker Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Music
Paul Parker celebrates a 47-year career in the music industry
OMAHA, NE, November 10, 2011 /Art and Artists PR News/ -- Paul A. Parker, President of Music Publishers Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in business management. He has been selected for inclusion in an upcoming issue of Pro-Files Magazine.
Mr. Parker has had a passion for music his entire life, and for the past 47 years, he has served the music industry proudly. Currently, he works as the president of Music Publishers Inc. Possessing extensive expertise in music education, Mr. Parker teaches private piano, saxophone, clarinet and flute, and prepares students for local, regional and national competitions and college scholarship auditions. In the past, he has played various instruments with the Omaha Symphony. He was also a piano soloist with the Lincoln Symphony and has backed many Las Vegas stars. For 28 years, he served as an adjunct professor of music and a woodwind specialist at Dana College.
A graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Mr. Parker holds a master's degree with a graduate thesis in music composition and a double performance major in piano and clarinet. He is a member of the Omaha Music Teachers Association and Music Teachers National Association. Mr. Parker's many accomplishments in the music industry include having co-authored, published, and sold over a quarter of a million music method books used in public and parochial schools throughout the nation. He was honored as Teacher of the Year for the state of Nebraska by the Nebraska Music Teachers Association in 2005. Furthermore, at the Music Teachers 2011 National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he was named a national fellow. Mr. Parker created and founded the Nebraska Summer Music Olympics in 1981. His recent review of newly published flute solo literature will appear in the American Music Teacher magazine in 2012.
