Kelly Leitzel Named a VIP Member of Cambridge Who's Who

Kelly Leitzel enjoys imparting her love of music to students at the Waynesboro Area School District

WAYNESBORO, PA, August 19, 2011 /Art and Artists PR News/ -- Kelly Leitzel, Teacher for the Waynesboro Area School District, has been selected as a VIP member by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in music education.

Mrs. Leitzel has been teaching music at the Waynesboro Area School District since 1985. During the course of a nearly three-decade career, she has taught classroom music to grades K-9, instrumental music to grades 5-6 and choral music to grades 7-8. She continues to conduct classes in both instrumental and classroom music, as well as lead band rehearsals. As a teacher, Mrs. Leitzel avers that there is no thrill quite like seeing her students mature not only as instrumentalists, but also as individuals. She deeply enjoys imparting her love of music to others and is doubly proud to have done so in the same school district for the entirety of her career.

Most at home when teaching instrumental music, Mrs. Leitzel also gives lessons in piano and band instruments in a private studio. A performer herself, she has shared the stage with such organizations as the Cumberland Valley School of Music Community Symphonic Band, the Hagerstown Municipal Band, the Mercersburg Community Band, and the Old Home Week Cantata Orchestra and Pageant Band. Mrs. Leitzel attributes her success to the support of her immediate and extended family, and to the quality of the training that her own mentors had provided.

Mrs. Leitzel is scheduled to complete a master's degree in music education from Shenandoah University this December. In 1983 and 1990, respectively, she obtained a bachelor's degree in music education from Susquehanna University and a Kodály certificate from the University of Hartford. An exemplary student, she was honored with inclusion in Who's Who Among High School Students and Who's Who Among College Students. She maintains affiliation with the Pennsylvania State Education Association.
