Throughout his brilliant 40 year professional career as an Independent Artist, Marcel has routinely demonstrated the vision, dedication and diligence necessary to be considered among the best.
Marcel communicates through a complex assemblage of line and form, color and tone, harmony, unity and rhythm, seeking to create a magical scene, reminiscent of the natural world, but which goes beyond the natural reality as a reflection of that timeless beauty present and enduring in all of us, and which at heart must compose the fabric of our social relations. For over 40 years, he has been producing his landscapes and still life paintings, showing them in various galleries throughout Canada and Australia.
Mr. Desbiens' work has been mentioned in numerous publications and has earned him several awards in the industry. Among the awards he has been the recipient of are First prize, Moreton Shire Exposition in Ipswich, Australia, 1994; First prize, Tattersall's Club Landscape Prize in Brisbane, Australia, 1996; Best Oil or Acrylic, Art Spectacular, The Combined Brisbane Rotary Clubs in Brisbane, Australia, 2003; and First prize, Best of show, The Black Snake Art Award in Queensland, Australia, 2006 and 2007.
